Quim Cardona is the essence of an East Coast skater. Born in North Jersey, Quim was raised near the mecca of early ’90s skateboarding culture with direct and constant access to NYC and its offerings like The Banks, South Street Seaport, and Astor Place.
With OGs like Mat Fields looking out for Quim, he quickly found himself sponsored by DLX’s Real, and would eventually go pro with the team, which resulted in a part in their classic film Non-Fiction. From Real, Quim found a fitting home at Zoo York in the early 2000s, where he filmed with R.B Umali for parts like “Peep This” and “Heads.” Since his departure from Zoo, Quim has been on Organika, and his new part in their “Family Tree” will be released soon.
Quim has expanded his focus beyond skateboarding, taking on the endeavours of running his own company, Sushi Wheels, as well as developing his rap career. His new album Chocolate Girl is due out this fall.
Quim is a free spirit and a model for living a life full of joy and passion, and for that we salute him. Hit the video player up top to watch his full episode of On The Grind.
